Steel Powder granular S16SP

S16SP is a coarse solid spherical carbon steel granular powder/ steel balls with particles of about 1200 micron. Granules of S16SP have a narrow particle size distribution. In other words most particles appear to be the same size. S16SP is often used as weight in some plastic and rubber products.

Granular steel powder consists of solid spherical steel balls with diameter of about 1.2 mm each. Visually it may appear that all spherical granules are the same size; however upon closer examination you will find smaller particles and some non-spherical particles.

Used as weight in some sport products and used to calibrate standard weights for balance scales. All standard weights come with a cavity during manufacturing. These balls are placed in the cavities to calibrate each weight in the last stage of the production.

In sport products such as ankle weights these balls are used to give necessary weight to the Ankle Weights and Wrist Weights.

Applications of S16SP include:

  • Production of weight bags generally known as Wrist Weight or Ankle Weight.
  • Calibration of standard weights used with balance scales.
  • Weight material in some plastic and rubber products such as bases for holding signs.
  • Shots in shotgun shells/Ammunition.
  • Concrete additive for weight enhancement.
  • Cold casting/ resin casting
